Key orbital facts: Jool sits far from the Sun, so solar-panel efficiency drops sharply and mission planners must budget for longer transfer windows. Its moons orbit at widely varying distances, meaning a station in Jool orbit can reach the inner moons quickly but must plan longer burns for the outer ones. The planet's magnetosphere traps charged particles, so any station design must account for radiation shielding.
Notable surface (atmospheric) features include the banded cloud decks, persistent storm systems, and a ring system of fine particulate material.
